During Bhutan highlights tour, you will visit all the major architectural wonders and heritage sites of Paro, Thimpu and Punakha.
The houses in Bhutan are colorfully decorated and most of dzongs were built in the 17th century. These Dzongs are regarded as the iconic master piece of Bhutanese art and architecture. The major specialty of these Dzongs are that not even single nail is used in its joints.
Major Highlights of 3 Nights 4 Days Bhutan Trip
Thimpu, the capital of nation, is a picturesque valley and the major attraction of Bhutan tour. We will visit Trashichhoe Dzong, a fortress based monastery built in medieval period. It is the center from where the entire Bhutan is administrated. Here you will get opportunity to witness the King’s throne room.
Likewise, we will visit the National Library. There are many books and most of them portrays the Buddhist culture and tradition. An exploration tour to Traditional School of Arts and Crafts will let you experience the unique cultural identity. Travelers will meet students studying Thanka Paintings. We also visit the Textile and Heritage Museum too.
At the noon, we will visit Handicrafts Emporium. Visiting this site allows us to discover the hand woven clothes. Also we visit the memorial chorten which was built in the memory of Third King of Bhutan, the father of modern Bhutan.
Paro is about 1.5km drive away from Thimpu. It is one of most popular touristic town of Bhutan. Here we visit Taktsang Monastery located about 900km above the rock face. It is also known as Tiger’s Nest Monastery.
Visiting Paro valley adds more dimension to Bhutan tour. Legends has it that Guru Padmasambhava flew here on the back of Tigress to hunt down demon. The monastery was built in 8th century and we get the magnificent view from here.
Kinchu Temple is another important site we visit in Paro. It is one of the 108 important temple which were built by Tibetan King Shroongchong Gompo in seventh century. We will also explore National Museum.
Punakha
The tour to Punakha is another major highlights of Bhutan trip. Punakha Dzong used to be the administrative center of Bhutan before it was transferred to Thimpu. It is strategically located at the juncture of Mo Chhu and Pho Chhu River. Mo refers as female and Pho as male.
On the way to Punakha, we stop at Dochula Pass. It is famous vantage point to enjoy the magnificent Himalayan views – Masagang (7,158m), Tsendagang (6,960m), Terigang (7,060m), jejegangphugang (7,158m), Kangphugang (7,170m), Zongphugang (7,060m) and Gangkar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7,497m.
Day01: Arrival at Paro International Airport and drive to Thimpu
Today we fly into the land of Thunder Dragon which is surrounded by the lush hill and Himalayan peaks. As you reach Paro valley, you can capture the awe-inspiring view of valley and mountains (subject to clear weather). We complete the airport formalities and meet the representative of Dream Bhutan who will drive to the capital of Bhutan, Thimpu. Please look out for Dream Bhutan name in display card. It takes around 1 and half hour to reach Thimpu. We will drive through stunning scenery, ancient cultural heritage sites, rivers and mountains. In the evening, we stroll around the city and explore the marvel of the city.

Day02: Sightseeing in Thimpu
Today we explore the major cultural heritage sites that portrays the arts and crafts and allows you to the deep insight of Bhutanese culture. We will explore the Tashichhoe Dzong (the beautiful medieval monastery hosting most of the government offices and King’s throne room), National Memorial Chorten (the chorten built in the memory of Third King, the father of modern Bhutan), traditional School of arts and crafts, Zilukha Nunnery, Takin Sanctuary (to witness national animal), Indigenous Hospital and Tasicho Dzong. These historic sites offers lush Bhutanese architecture, crafts and skills.

Day03: Thimpu – Paro
Today we head towards the beautiful Paro valley from the capital of Bhutan and explore the diverse culture, tradition and architecture. At Paro we will explore famous Tiger Nest Monastery or Taktsang, a monastery located on the 900m sheer rock face. This highly venerated monastery have been used by Guru Padmasambhava to meditate. We also visit Farm House that displays Bhutan’s rich art and culture and National Museum that houses ancient Thangka paintings, textiles, armours and other precious items.

Day04: Final Departure
It’s time to bid farewell to this tiny Himalayan paradise. After breakfast, the representative from Dream Bhutan will transfer you to the Paro International Airport for your onward destination.
